I love digging through thrift stores. Some of my close friends have called thrifting “stressful,” and I can understand—it is kind of chaotic. Many flea market style shops are organized by booth, not type of item, so you sometimes have to look through everything to find what you’re looking for, but I love the search. It’s kind of therapeutic for me.
Yesterday I mentioned visiting River City Trading Post in Jenks, Oklahoma. I didn’t go in looking for any one particular item, but with my overall wedding theme in mind. I’m trying extremely hard not to look for cute odds and ends for my future home with Daniel yet, but it can be tough. We just started looking together a couple of weeks ago, and I can’t wait to make some place cozy with him! We don’t need a whole lot—I have our furniture necessities and all that because I’ve lived on my own for over a year now—but it’s fun to find items for a few dollars that really fit our personalities to make our space OUR SPACE.
I consider yesterday’s trip a success! I spent $14 on four items—three for the wedding and one for our future home.
$3 guestbook possibility! Would work well with something I'm considering involving guest photos.
$7 guestbook possibility--love the front!
$2 for two frames!
$2--for keys and such. I've seen stuff like this on Etsy for wayyy more.
I'm excited about my purchases!
I took a few photos of other inexpensive rustic/vintage items to show you all how worth your time thrifting is for your wedding.
Vintage tins
Milk glass--I purchased several pieces from here earlier on in our engagement
BIG baskets (there were smaller ones, too, and all shapes and sizes) for $1 a piece. I love baskets.
I'll leave you with a new-ish thrifting find I bought for our home a few weeks ago at one of my favorite Fayetteville shops. Happy Palm Sunday, everyone!
